October 5, 2015 Monday only

It is starting to feel like fall!

Here is what we did today:

Choice Time:  We went outside for choice time.  Andon found a cricket on a leaf in the sandbox.  We put the cricket in a box on the table for everyone to see.  We talked about how many legs it had (6) and how many antennae it had (2) and why it didn't jump away (it was too little and hadn't learned yet or maybe it's leg hurt.)

Circle Time:  We passed around 2 pumpkins that were small and bumpy for the children to see.  We read the story, "Growing Pumpkins."  This was a big book that discussed the stages of a pumpkin from seed to pumpkin.  When we go to the Pumpkin Patch next week they should see some of the same things we read and saw in the book.

Snack Time:  Holly brought cereal and juice for snack.  Thank you Holly!

Center Time:  All of the centers were open and there was painting available.

Have a great day!  Below are the pictures of the cricket found this morning.
