May 16, 2016 Monday

Here is what we did today:

Choice Time:  We went outside today!  The children got to ride on the new carousel tricycle that was purchased from the Art Show Fundraiser!  They loved it!

Circle Time:  We read a book on tape - "Froggy Builds a Tree House."  Andon helped us count 20 purple shells on the card in the mystery bag. 

Snack Time:  Andon brought cheese sticks and apple juice.  Thank you Andon!

Center Time:  All of the centers were open but there was no painting at the easel.

Next time is our Last Day Picnic!  Start Time is 9:30.

May 11/12, 2016

Here is what we did:

Choice Time:  We played 2 Hide-And-Seek games.  The first one involved hiding 3 children behind a book case and the rest of the children on the rug had to guess who it was.  The second game was played using regular rules.  Lots of fun!  On Thursday, we went outside and played since the weather was nice - also lots of fun!

Circle Time:  We read the story, "I Ain't Gonna Paint No More!"

Snack Time:  We celebrated summer birthdays with ice cream sundaes.  On Wednesday, Andon, Scarlett, and Hollie were the children we sang Happy  to and on Thursday, we sang to Mason.

Center Time:  All of the centers were open but no painting at the easels anymore.

May 10, 2016 Tuesday

A Visit From the Bettendorf Firefighters!

Choice Time and Circle Time:  We listened to the firefighters tell us about fire safety.  We watched them put on their protective equipment complete with oxygen tank, gas mask and helmet.  We went outside and saw the fire truck (engine # 4) and got to actually sit/stand inside of the truck.  And we got to hear the sirens and see the lights as they drove away and back to work for the city of Bettendorf.  It was a memorable day!

Ben helped us count 10 violins on the card in the mystery bag. 

Ben brought snack - granola bars and chocolate milk.  Thank you Ben!

Center Time:  All of the centers were open and there was painting at the easel.

May 9, 2016 Monday

Here is what we did today:

Choice Time:  The three choices were: soccer shooting practice using nerf balls, cutting string with scissors, and popsicle sticks and clothespins.

Circle Time:  We read the story, "Froggy Plays Soccer."  On Monday, Addison helped us count 10 violins on the card in the mystery bag.

Snack Time:  On Monday, Addison brought goldfish and milk for snack.  Thank you Addison!

Center Time:  All of the centers were open and there was painting at the easel.

May 4/5, 2016 Wednesday/Thursday

Here is what we did today:

Choice Time:  The 3 choices on Monday were:  flying paper flyers made out of construction paper and straws, creating things with practice golf balls and pipe cleaners and creating things out of popsicle sticks and clothspins. On Tuesday, we went outside for Choice Time.

Circle Time:  We read 2 stories - "Hands Can" and "I Can Help."  We counted 20 purple shells in the mystery bag.

Snack Time:  Today was "Cooking Day."  We learned how to pour our own drinks and practiced scooping our own snack.  Also we learned how to pass things to our table neighbor and ask our table neighbor to pass things to us.

Center Time:  All of the centers were open and there was painting at the easel.

April 27/28, 2016 Wednesday/Thursday

Here is what we did today:

Choice Time:  We played with cars and tracks, catch-a-ball-cones, and magnadoodles.

Circle Time:  We read 2 stories - "Guess Who's Fast" and "A Porcupine Named Fluffy."
On Wednesday, Taylor helped us count 18 buttons on the card in the mystery bag.  On Thursday, Topher helped us do the counting.

Snack Time:  On Wednesday, Taylor brought goldfish and apple juice for snack.  Thank you Taylor!  On Thursday, Topher brought muffins and strawberry milk.  Thank you Topher!


Center Time:  All of the centers were open and there was painting available at the easel.
